ANANKE is the uncompromised compression engine extracted from the ROGERIAN Dialogue Suite and configured as a focused, single-purpose processor. Voiced for dialogue yet equally at home tightening drum busses, vocals, or master outputs, it represents the primordial force of necessity and constraint.
Component extracted from the Rogerian core lineage. Runs completely independent of a parent shell layer. Authorization tracks universal macOS VST3 and AU formats.

Under the hood is a modern feed-forward compressor with a smooth, program-dependent decoupled peak detector and a soft-knee gain computer. Detection is stereo-linked — one gain reduction value is applied across both channels, so ANANKE clamps down hard without ever shifting or smearing the stereo image. It runs in mono or stereo, and the engine is mono-first by design: predictable, surgical, and transparent when you want it to be.
At its default settings, with drive at zero, ANANKE is bit-transparent — a clean, uncoloured compressor. Everything beyond that is a deliberate choice you reach for.

In Greek myth, Ananke is the primordial force of necessity and constraint — the inevitability that holds everything else in its place. It's a fitting name for a compressor: the quiet discipline that keeps a performance under control.
A single control maps the ballistics behavior of the compressor, decoupled completely from any harmonic coloration curves:
- · CLEAN — Faithful, transparent gain reduction. The compressor, out of the way.
- · WARM — Rounder, more forgiving dynamics that ease onto the signal timeline gracefully.
- · PUNCH — Faster, transient-forward tracking behavior that prioritizes snap and energy up front.
The coloration network is entirely decoupled from the dynamics engine, allowing you to dial in tone and harmonics completely independent of attenuation depth. Includes three analogue-modeled voicings:
- · TUBE — Even-harmonic warmth, weight, and a soft, rounded top.
- · DIODE — A grittier blend of even and odd harmonics with a controlled high end response.
