FREQUENTLY ASKED
Orders, refunds, installation and licensing. If something here does not answer your question, write to us and a person will read it.
Because every module is a digital download, we do not offer refunds or exchanges once a purchase is complete. Every paid module ships with a full 14 day trial, unlocked and uncrippled, so you can run it on real sessions before you spend anything. Use the trial and be certain first.
If a module is genuinely broken on your system, that is a different conversation. Write to info@theta.audio with your DAW, your macOS version and what you are seeing, and we will work it out with you.
Check your spam or junk folder first, since receipts are often filtered. The email arrives from Lemon Squeezy on behalf of THETA Audio Research and carries your licence key and download link. If it is nowhere to be found, send us the payment date and the email address you used at info@theta.audio and we will resend it.
Every released paid module has a TRY_NOW option on its page. You give us an email address, you get the same installer paying customers get, and it runs in full for 14 days. No feature is disabled, no noise is injected, nothing is bounced at reduced quality. When the trial ends the module stops processing until you enter a licence.
Checkout runs through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Major cards and PayPal are accepted, prices are in US dollars, and any local tax is calculated at checkout and shown before you confirm. We never see or store your card details.
A licence covers three machines you own, which is meant to cover a studio rig, a laptop and a backup. There is no dongle and no subscription. If you replace a machine or run out of activations, tell us and we will reset the count.
Updates to the version you bought are free, always. Bug fixes, refinements and maintenance builds within your version cost nothing.
Upgrades to a new major version are a separate thing, and carry a nominal fee. When a module moves to its next version we will say what the upgrade costs for existing owners before it ships.
Yes, on any commercial release, with no royalty and no credit required. The free modules carry the same permission as the paid ones. What you may not do is resell, relicense or redistribute the plugins themselves.
macOS 11.0 Big Sur or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. Formats are VST3, Audio Unit and AAX for Pro Tools, all in one signed and notarized installer that places each format where its host expects it.
Not yet. Everything currently ships for macOS, and Windows is actively being worked on. We warmly welcome PC beta testers who want to help bring Windows into the inventory, so apply through support if that is you.
Restart the host after installing, since most DAWs only scan for new plugins at launch. Logic and GarageBand need the Audio Unit component, and if it does not appear, delete the AU cache in Library then relaunch. Pro Tools needs the AAX build, which the installer places automatically. Still nothing? Send us your DAW and version.
Yes. ENTROPY, EFFEK, OLFACTORY and PENROSE are free downloads with no licence to buy and no expiry. We ask for an email address so we can tell you when a build changes, and you can leave that list whenever you like.
STILL STUCK
Send us the module, your DAW and your macOS version, and we will get to the bottom of it.
