A three-knob mastering processor. Signal falls into the black hole on the left, is stripped to what survives the throat, and emerges from the white hole on the right. The picture is not a skin over a mastering chain. It is a drawing of one.
Lowering HORIZON is the key to pushing the effects into the chain. The ceiling stays armed at −1.0 dBFS; HORIZON sets how far below it the signal starts working the stages, so the further down you bring it, the harder EDGE, BALLAST, HEAT and the EMERGENCE section are driven.
Drag either control. Each knob is a position along the tube, not a brightness. The throat burns harder the closer the two fronts get to it.
Everything left of the throat. Turn it up and more is taken: resonant peaks flattened, harshness pulled back, low mud cleared, and what remains warmed as it passes through.
No setting of Infall adds anything.
Everything right of the throat. Weight underneath, air above, glue across the middle, and a ceiling that stays where you put it.
No setting of Emergence removes anything.

A trim on its own does nothing while its macro sits at zero, so the knobs stay the whole operation.
